No 51 - What Is Spirituality?

Spirituality is not some complicated, mystical thing reserved for monks or yogis on mountaintops. It is real. It is simple. And it is for everyone.

At its heart, spirituality is about connection. It is about recognising that you are not just your job, your to-do list, or the noise in your head. You are part of something bigger, a force, a flow, a life that stretches far beyond you alone. And when you tap into that, everything shifts.

Here is the thing: spirituality does not need rules, rituals, or jargon. It is your own way of finding peace, meaning, and clarity, even when life feels messy and overwhelming.

Perhaps it is meditation, or a walk in the woods, or simply pausing to breathe before you lose it. Perhaps it is creating art that lets your heart speak what words cannot. Whatever it is, it is your way of saying, “I see myself. I see the world. And I am ready to live fully.”

The truth is, spirituality is about showing up for yourself every day. It is about curiosity, openness, and a willingness to explore what it means to simply be—right here, right now.

So do not wait for the perfect moment.

Start where you are.

Because spirituality?

It is yours to own.

And it is waiting for you.

A small reflective exercise: Take a few deep breaths and close your eyes. Imagine a small flame or a glowing light within your chest. With each inhale, let it grow brighter; with each exhale, let it expand into the world around you. Ask yourself: where in my day can I meet this light? How can I show up for myself fully today? Then, open your eyes and carry that presence into whatever comes next.
